Comes on the Heels of Another Influential Endorsement by OC Taxpayers Association OCTaxPAC
(Newport Beach, CA) – This morning, the board of the Lincoln Club of Orange County gave a unanimous endorsement to Senator John Moorlach for his re-election to the State Senate.
They join the Orange County Taxpayers Association TaxPAC and dozens of local and state elected GOP leaders in supporting Moorlach, who has been called the “Fiscal Conscience of the California Legislature.”
“Every single Republican office holder and organization needs to stand with us in supporting John Moorlach for re-election,” said Lincoln Club President Wayne Lindholm. “John Moorlach is not afraid to fight for lean, efficient, and fiscally sound tax and spending policies. John has been a driving force in stopping higher taxes and opposing more government debt. We need his voice in Sacramento, and he deserves our unanimous support.”
Despite running in a multi-candidate field, John Moorlach topped 50% in a March 2015 special election to win the open 37th Senate Seat without a runoff election. Since then, he’s used his accounting and financial planning expertise to analyze state spending and taxation, and push for reforms of state spending and debt practices.
The Orange County Register said Moorlach “possesses a track record as a knowledgeable truth teller willing to rock the boat on behalf of the taxpayer,” and the Flash Report called Senator Moorlach the “Fiscal Conscience of the State Legislature.”
Moorlach began his career in public service 20 years ago when he was appointed to Treasurer Tax Collector in the aftermath of the Orange County bankruptcy, then the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. History. Moorlach cut risky investments, streamlined spending, and reduced overhead to guide the county out of bankruptcy. Then, as a Member of the Board of Supervisors, Moorlach pushed for pension and retiree medical reforms that have saved Orange County taxpayers over $100 million a year.
